NHS and other agencies may be able to help you, depending on your situation, but it is critically important to begin working together on your situation early, preferably before you begin to miss payments.

NHS has assigned new counselors to foreclosure prevention and established a partnership with the Homeownership Preservation Foundation to provide help to New York City residents. Our counselors can:

• Teach you how to approach your lender.
• Help you develop a spending plan that works.
• Help you manage your debt.
• Show you how to access refinance opportunities.
