Cathy Mickens, Executive Director, has been with the organization for 32 years.  As a community leader, homeowner, and resident of Queens Community District 12, Cathy has developed positive partnerships with elected officials, community leaders, businesses, and community residents.  Cathy has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education and has completed numerous trainings in the field of housing.  She connects NHS to the community by serving on local boards such as the Women of Faith Board of Directors, the Carver Bank Advisory Board, and formerly served as Co-Chair of the Family Selection Committee for the Queens Chapter of the Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors.  Cathy has written several successful proposals that brought millions of needed dollars to the community, for the benefit of low- and middle-income residents.

Patricia Kerr, Program Director, After spending years in the private sector helping families build wealth through investment portfolios, Patricia decided to bring her knowledge and experience to the not-for-profit world. In 1999, Patricia became the Accounting Consultant for NHS of Jamaica. More recently, Patricia was promoted to Program Director; she now plays a major role in the organization’s capacity building efforts. She works closely with staff to ensure compliance, production, service delivery and quality customer service.  She is detailed in strategic planning and management, and has completed her certification in housing counseling  from NeighborWorks® of America since joining NHS.  Patricia holds a bachelors degree in business administration from The Bernard M. Baruch College. She is also a Certified Housing Asset Manager.

Tannia Gordon, Homeownership Manager, Loan Officer, has been with Neighborhood  Housing Services of Jamaica for five years.  She is employed as the Underwriting Officer for our Small Homes Rehab Lending Program. Tannia received an Associate degree in Business Administration from LaGuardia Community College in 2002 and a Bachelor of Science Degree from York College in 2007. Tannia received her certification as a Rehab Loan Officer and Housing Counselor from the National NeighborWorks® Training Institute since her employment with NHSJ.  Ms. Gordon is a resident of the borough of Queens, and is very familiar with the NHS service area and issues that affect the quality of community life.

Cerinelly Disla, Foreclosure Prevention Counselor:  Cerinelly Disla is a resident and homeowner in Queens who has been employed with Neighborhood Housing Services for three years. Over the past year, Cerinelly has led the Southern Queens Foreclosure Prevention Task Force, where she has built strong relationships with community leaders, government officials, and residents. Through her leadership, many community stakeholders have come together to share strategies and information on foreclosure prevention, which has helped community leaders to combat foreclosures in Southeast Queens. Cerinelly is a graduate of Queens College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications and is certified in Pre- and Post-purchase Counseling.
